Fun over Halloween

So I wanted to blog a little about some of the halloween activites the Horton family participated in. A little bit before halloween Sherri, Crissy and I all took the grandkids to a pumpkin patch for some fun.
There was a hay maze where Emily and Hannah played for a while. It was really cute trying to spot their heads over the little hay walls. Allyson had fun too running around trying to keep up with the big girls.

Ethan and Lillian were the passive ones but they had fun. Especially Ethan when he got to ride in the wagon with the pumpkins.

Emily pulled the girls in the cart and had fun being the oldest. Hannah wasn't good the whole time and had to sit in time out on one of the pumpkins.

Later on in the week Nate, Crissy, Ethan, Dan, I and the girls went to "Boo at the Zoo" at the Hogle Zoo. It was quite fun until the kids got tired. But they had fun watching the animals and playing gopher near the play area.

The kids were in their costumes and got to get candy from tables all around the zoo. Parking was a mess and there were tons of people there, but I would probably still do it again. It's a fun memory and was a great way to spend time with family.

Sledding and food

So I know I sent out an email about this, but just in case people aren't checking email and checking the blog instead I thought I would list the info on here as well. We are planning (weather permitting) to go sledding somewhere around Joseph and Amy's house on Saturday morning around 10:00am. There will be a potluck lunch afterwards at Curt and Susan's house. Bring something warm to share. Please come if you can and bring sleds if you have them. It would be really fun to get together and do something active.

Sorry another new blog

So I am so sorry I am dominating this forum as of lately. I just wanted to let you all know I put up a new blog with pics of some of the wedding cakes I've done. I thought it might be a nice place to send people to look at what cakes I have done and they can see if they want me to do their wedding cake.

I put it on the blog list on the family blog if anyone wants to check it out.

Christmas and Thanksgiving

So I was thinking about Christmas, yes already and was thinking that with the big thanksgiving sales coming up we should make lists and send them to whomever has our name. Nate and Crissy are you listening ;-). Same with Mike and Mary and even Cari. I think that the sales are going to be insane this time around because the retail market is suffering so much. So think about it this week people, if we know what you want/need, we just might get it for you. If we don't know what people want we will get you something that you maybe don't want or need but we just thought looked pretty.

Also, I was wondering what is going on for thanksgiving. My sister and I (hopefully) are going to run a 5k in Bountiful that morning. All are welcome to come. My family is having dinner at 5:00, so Cari if you want to have yours earlier then we can make it to both (don't worry we will pace ourselves so we don't explode).

Peace and love everyone.

Thanks Matt!

I didn't know Sherri had a blog. Thanks for posting it so that all of us can enjoy the funny stories about your sweet girls.

Hannah asks twice a week if Emily is coming over or if she is going to get to play with her. My daughter idolizes yours. It's pretty cute.

Just wanted to tell you about Mom. She entered 3 pictures in the Davis County Fair. There wasn't a great social circle at the fair, especially when Mom asked about an old photography teacher who had recently passed away. The subject somewhat destroyed any happy topic that may or may not have occured. The fair goes from Wednesday Noon to Saturday night if you want to drop by and see Mom's pictures. In case you can't...busy weekend...I will post the pictures here. Take Care, Elizabeth.

Davis County Fair

Just wanted to tell you about Elizabeth. She entered 3 pictures in the Davis County Fair. The guy at the fair who took her pictures could not stop complimenting her. (I also entered 3 pictures but did not get one single compliment, but that was OK because I was very excited for her.) The fair goes from Wednesday Noon to Saturday night if you want to drop by and see Elizabeth's pictures. In case you can't...busy weekend...I will post the pictures here. Take Care, Cari

I don't want to be a plumber!

Howdy everyone!

As many of you may know, our next door neighbor is a plumber. He asked me yesterday if I could help out with some of the jobs he had to do today. I said I would be happy to, since I don't have a job and I spend most of my days in boredom. I started the day full of energy, but now I'm ready to lay down and die! It was so exhausting! No offense to all the plumbers out there, but they sure do have crappy jobs (pun intended :)). I've decided that I have no desire whatsoever to be a plumber when I grow up, and I would much rather be someone who sits down most of the day. My skinny little bones can only take so much!

We closed on a house!!!

For those who don't know, or haven't heard yet. Yes we finally bought a house. It is in Clearfield and we are very excited about it. Hannah still thinks it is Emily's house, every time we go there because she can't fathom that we could have a house.

Our trip to Canada went well. It was really fun to show Dan my hometown.
This is the waterfall close to our house. I still can't believe that this was basically in our backyard.
Great idea creating a blog Matt!
Tana

A young Ebeneezer reflects...

A cartoon little boy once sang,

"When you're alone, alone in the world
When you're alone in the world
Blown-away leaves get blown in the world
Swirled-away leaves get swirled

A hand for each hand was planned for the world
Why don't my fingers reach?
Millions of grains of sand in the world
Why such a lonely beach?

Where is a voice to answer mine back?
Where are two shoes that click to my clack

I'm all alone in the WOOOOORLD!"

Yes, Crissy and Ethan are in Maryland, and have been since the 24th of July. They get back on the 4th of August(only 4 more days left), but I am lonely. School keeps me busy, but life is dull with out the Eefer Deefs and the Wife-ery !

Anyway...just having fun with this blog. Good idea Matt.

In retrospect...i'd just like to say, "My little brother got his arm stuck in the microwave. So my mom had to take him to the hospital. My grandma dropped acid this morning, and she freaked out. She hijacked a busload of penguins. So it's sort of a family crisis. Bye!

Best Thing Ever

Have you ever wondered what is the best thing in the world?  I'd say having some cute kids :).  Well, maybe that's not the only thing that's the best thing ever.  For those of you who don't know, Sherri and I have been trying to get our house ready to sell.  We're ready to move to a house where you guys can all visit and it's not "standing room only".  So maybe the best thing ever is getting a new house.  We shall see....we shall see.

New Blogger on the Block

This is my very first blog attempt. I'm not totally sure how it works, but I will venture out into the unknown...and say, HI HORTONS!!! Mike and I are doing fine here in Sacramento. This is the hottest time of year for us, but we pretend to like it and to not think that we have died and gone to hell. Today it was about 109 degrees. My tutoring job and Mike's job at Sutter Health are going well. I'm recovering from my car accident and liking my new used car. We miss you all who are back in Zion or in Idaho or Arizona or other places. We think about each one of you, and you're in our thoughts and our prayers every day. Our cat and our pet rats are fine. We have some tasty green apples growing on a tree in the back yard. Every year before this they were tiny and sour and only good for throwing. Well, this will be it for my first message. I will try to send some photos and some more exciting news soon. Hope you are all doing great. We love you.

Our Family Rocks!!!

So I thought I would try this to see if you guys would use it!! I got verbals from Dad and Betty. So you better use it you two!!!

Anyways, thought it would be fun to post pictures, stories, etc. Especially as we get bigger and bigger. (Most people family wise...me waist wise)

Love, Matt
